Hiragana biscuits come in tin can packages that look like real biscuits. Inside the box you will find nine types of biscuits with 54 cards in total - Hiragana, ”, ゜ ,? ,! , and one spare card. The back of the spare card has a blackboard specification, to allow for practice of writing the characters themselves.

What is hiragana? Hiragana is a Japanese syllabary, one component of the Japanese writing system, along with katakana, kanji and in some cases Latin script. It is a phonetic lettering system. The word hiragana literally means "ordinary" or "simple" kana. Hiragana is the more cursive and more widely used form of kana (syllabic writing) used in Japanese, especially used for function words and inflections.
